**Lost Our Home Facilitator/Lead Training**
Learn the tricks behind leading groups, community members, and new trainees. Amplify your impact by teaching others
"Respond here or email volunteering@lostourhome.org to get on the interest list for the next class. Ideal leaders will be able to lead a group/class or two monthly, have a good feel for our people/processes, and be ready to share their passion for the mission!
This is evolving, but work hand-in-hand with myself and our leadership team to learn some or all of the following:
- Understanding and conveying Lost Our Home's mission
- Provide welcoming presence and calm, steady guidance for shelter newcomers
- Convey volunteer expectations, best practices, and support
- Encouraging them to share individual strengths & interests
- Tour the shelter and get volunteers confident with our layout and flow
- Demonstrate & get volunteers hands-on practice with core shelter tasks
- Sneak in a dog or cat intro! Highly recommended
- Share next steps & answer any lingering questions
More to come! Volunteers are a critical lifeline in running our shelter and achieving our mission, so having more talented folks to guide them in their training is something we'd desperately love - it's a win for everybody!
